Our Kids Have Cell Phone Radar

Why is that whenever you want to have a moment to yourself..I.E., check your Facebook, they know. They know whenever I pick up the phone, it’s like a strange radar or something. I’m all alone hanging out feeling the peace and I think hmmmm wonder what’s going on in Facebook land. Pick up the phone and BAM! Els is right there in my face. “Yay Mommy’s up!” Or just sitting down on the loo for the first time in hours getting ready to watch the latest Snaps and WOOSH! Alex swings the door open to tell me about how he just drafted in Mario Kart 8. Yes, I truly believe children aged 0-10 have #momsonhercellphoneletsbotherhertothefullestextent radar. (wait..is that too long to be a hashtag?) How do you guys feel about this? Can I get some other mama’s to back me up!?

This is my current view:

As I type this blog, at 10:35pm, I am constantly reminded by my six year old Alex that being two feet away from me is unacceptable. This is the only acceptable position in his mind to be able to fall asleep comfortably:

Now I know I shouldn’t complain, and I know one of you out there will hit me with the “But they grow up so fast!” Said in a really annoyingly high pitched girl voice. But Dammit I just want to see where DJ Khaled is at this very moment on Snapchat!! Is that too much to ask?!?!

Alright alright, in all seriousness I secretly love all these interruptions cause I know it won’t be long until I am chasing them around trying to make them pour me a glass of milk. I love my little Alex and Els and really wouldn’t have it any other way. Yay for family and Love. Now here is Els dancing to make you smile.
